Moody and slightly haunting, this artist signed oil portrait is a study of light and dark. The woman's features are defined by soft shadows and highlights. Her deep set eyes, slightly parted lips and expression make her appear contemplative. What is she thinking of? Beautiful, textural brushstrokes and visible canvas grain, a type of impasto technique, gives the piece an organic, raw quality. Unframed canvas ready to prop upon a shelf or display on an easel (ours is display only). Lovely warm neutrals!
