The restoration, renovation, and decoration of an old home — Martha’s way. This book is a type of journal that includes step by step guides on everything from reshingling the roof and rebuilding the foundation, to installing heating and cooling systems, to hiring interior designers to decorate the rooms with their unique vision and perspectives. The featured Adams homestead, built in 1838, is a transitional Federal style farmhouse, located in Westport, Connecticut, and was purchased from the last remaining relative of the original owner by Martha Stewart for the purpose of saving a historical home, documenting the process and making it livable again. A labor of love to preserve history — a beautiful book!
