To napkin ring or to not napkin ring? As history has taught us, napkin rings were designed as a hygiene hack in the early 1800's -- they served as markers for individuals to reuse their own napkin from a previous meal. Napkins were only laundered every few days, and to prevent mixing soils, guests used the same one on repeat. Needless to say, we launder our napkins after each meal and we're all about aesthetics. We love the flair and beauty of this silver and gold set -- they'll coordinate with all of the other tableware in either finish. Versatile and always an appreciated and thoughtful hostess gift!
