The barque 'Koh-i-noor, a British merchant vessel, was an original maritime oil painted in 1852 by ship portraitist, John Scott, and was considered a masterpiece. Ours is a vintage reproduction print and is set behind glass in a classic double matted design and bordered by a burlwood veneer frame, which is a heavily favored aesthetic for nautical artwork. Interestingly enough, historical accounts over the years have mistakenly attributed this artwork to William John Huggins, as the plaque suggests on the front. A little seafaring history and mystery! This is a well-loved piece showing wear to the frame in a few spots. Ready to hang with wire hanger.
