They partnered with high-end department stores to stock and give them away, and Kaufmann's of Pittsburgh was one of them. This particular box is unique because of its long shape (often used for glove storage) and it features brass fittings that replicate the nostalgic full size Lane trunks. This box also retains its original Kaufmann's promotional price sticker of $1 -- authenticating its unusual \"provenance\". We liked it for its shape and wooden construction.
